As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak continues expand and evolve, the City of Woodhaven is taking action to limit the impact of the virus on our community and maintain city services.
The Mayor, Administrator and city staff have had meetings to discuss a range of issues related to COVID-19, including support for our vulnerable citizens, municipal staffing levels and the delivery of programs and services as well as public spaces and events.
Those discussions are an ongoing daily occurrence and are being guided by the expert advice of C.D.C., M.D.H.H.S., and Wayne County Dept of Health.
We working closely with support organization in delivering the methods necessary to contain the virus; the City is also in regular contact with other community groups, partners and neighbors to discuss our collective response to COVID-19.
A number of precautionary measures have been announced both locally and nationally in the past few days, including the closure of all public schools in State of Michigan, the suspension of youth sport programs, and the cancellation of various events and activities that involve large groups of people. In the City of Woodhaven that means there will be no Water Meter replacements and no inspections done by the Building Department until further notice to keep city workers from entering the homes of residents.
All City buildings are closed to the public with the exception of the Police and Fire Departments. If you need to make a payment for city services you can use the drop box located on the driveway in front of City Hall next to the Post Office boxes, this box will be checked multiple times per day (Checks or money orders, no cash) If you have questions to please contact us (734) 675-3000.
There will be NO late payment fees assessed on any Water Bill, RV Storage, or Special pickup invoice until April 7th, 2020. If you have any questions regarding an invoice please contact the finance department at 734.675.4925.
