Katherine A. Oehring

The Treasurer for the City of Woodhaven is Katherine Oehring. Kathy has lived in the city for over fifteen years.
Before her position with the City, Oehring worked for ANR Pipeline Company for more than 22 years whose office was in the Renaissance Center located in downtown Detroit. During her career she has obtained experience in various accounting departments and implemented accounting software.
A downriver native, having grown up in Taylor and graduating from Truman High School, She received a bachelor's degree from Detroit College of Business.

Mission Statement

It is the mission of the Treasurer's Department to ensure the convenient, timely, and accurate billing and collection of taxes and fees, receipt of all remittances to the City, and investment of those funds in a prudent manner so as to maximize the financial resources available to meet the needs of the City.

The Finance Department has the responsibility of providing complete and accurate financial information on all operations of the City. The Finance Department processes all expenditures of the City; records all revenues; processes the City payroll; invests all available City money; accounts for the payment of all long-term debts; accounts for the enterprise, grants, and special revenue funds and responds to any requests that require financial information.

The Treasurer's Office has custody of all moneys of the city and receives all money belonging to and receivable by the City including license fees, taxes, assessments and all other charges belonging to and payable to the City.

The Assessor places estimated taxable values on each parcel of real estate and personal property within the City with the assistance of Wayne County. Board of Review Meetings are always held during the month of March every year. Residents are afforded the opportunity to discuss their assessment with the Board of Review.
