Winter Operation Policy-Salt & Snow
It appears that quantities of salt provided to local communities will be capped for 2008-2009. Therefore, quantities supplied to Woodhaven will be limited and based on needs and/or amounts on ground. Therefore, the salting policy for 2008/2009 will be modified as follows:
The City of Woodhaven for the winter of 2008 & 2009 will not salt all streets to produce a bare road surface.
The Department of Public Service will be very conservative with salt application; it will be applied to intersections and curves, long straight a ways will be spot salted.
Driveways at Fire Stations and Police Department will receive enough salt for safe travel.
City buildings will receive enough salt for safe travel.
Per City Ord. Sec. 94-76 city streets will be plowed between 2 - 4 inches.
